Columbia University's RET offers emerging technology training, featuring a summer program and ongoing support, in collaboration with MRSEC and the Summer Research Program for Science Teachers.

Since 2004 we have worked with the staff of the University Museum of Archaeology and anthropology to present a one-day workshop on materials science applied to archaeology. The workshop consists of a series of lectures on archaeochemistry, archaeometallurgy and archaeoceramics coupled with lab tours of LRSM and museum facilities, CAAM, culminating in a tour of a local bronze casting foundry.

The NSF-funded Wisconsin MRSEC Education and Outreach Group offers educational activities about advanced materials and nanotechnology to enhance K-12 and public understanding of science and engineering concepts.

M-SPIRE at UCI MRSEC is a two-week summer program providing high school and community college students hands-on experience in materials research, mentoring, and skills for pursuing related disciplines.

Teachers participate in state-of-the-art research in one of our labs and then translate the experience into lessons or curriculum they can use in their classrooms. Open to high school or middle school science teachers. This is a great opportunity for chemistry, physics or engineering teachers.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) fellowships are awarded to undergraduates for participation in a ten-week summer program designed to provide unique research experiences, professional development, and increased awareness of materials science and engineering. Each student performs research in one of the four UMN MRSEC Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs):Electrostatic Control of Materials, Sustainable Nanocrystal Materials, Hierarchical Multifunctional Macromolecular Materials IRGs, or one of the various MRSEC Seed groups.

PCCM invites the public to explore materials science through interactive activities with Princeton University researchers at Día de la Ciencia, a bilingual family program focused on nanoscience.

The Wisconsin MRSEC REU program offers advanced research opportunities and immersive experiences in materials science and engineering for undergraduate students each summer.
